Beginning from your email box. Dive in to find out.
1. Email Marketing:
Email is the undisputed king of marketing a business online. It has the potential to drive customer acquisition, retention, loyalty and a number of other marketing tactics. However, you need to keep up, especially with the latest Corona Virus pandemic forcing more and more people to operate from home.
Email marketing will be even more vital now, than it has ever being, and it was one of the most crucial skills you need in your toolkit the stay connected and not lose track.
Take a moment to consider the stats below to see how a simple email marketing campaign can turn things around for your business.
293.6 billion emails were sent and received each day. Average expected ROI is $42 for every $1 you spend on email marketing. 81% of small businesses rely on email as their primary customer acquisition channel, and 80% for retention. The average open rate for a welcome email is 82%.
Creating an effective email marketing strategy for your business is no easy feat. To succeed with this digital marketing technique, you’ll have to give something of value away for free in exchange for the consumer’s email address.
So for starters; the first step to effectively marketing your business online for free is to keep systems in place to collect as many email addresses as possible from visitors to your website, in addition to finding ways to meet their needs.
To get the ball rolling, let me show you how.
The value you can offer in exchange for your customers/visitors email addresses, could come in form of free report, whitepapers, blog posts or ebook that will help people in your industry or niche solve real life problems or questions.
Its no secret a web searcher is at least 90% not likely to convert on the first visit to your site. So the aim of collecting these contact information is to help you develop a relationship with your email subscribers/contacts (who are likely your ideal leads/customers) through drip-fed campaigns to keep them interested in your brand and offerings, until when they are ready to make a commitment.
The above named email marketing service providers can help you gather contacts for your email marketing list, add your existing contacts into your email marketing account, set up your welcome email, create reusable email templates etc
A pop up like Sumo can come in handy in directing your visitors into your contact list.
As a final thought, also practice writing persuasive messages that can grab the attention of your prospects.

2. Create A Branded Email Signature.
A custom email signature helps you stand out, be memorable and build your brand identity. With an image of you or your logo at the bottom of each email
A company’s brand represents who it is and what it does, which is why it’s essential for branding to be used and displayed correctly in every possible medium. Email being one of the most vital – as you’re already aware – it’s one of the simplest way you can market your business online.
Normally shown at the bottom of every email you send out, the key elements of a professional email signature include your name, title, company and phone number. You may also include an address and your company’s website. But don’t include your email address—that’s redundant and unnecessary.
Branded email signatures can be very beneficial to your company. You can design your company’s email signature to reflect your company’s ethos and credibility. When a signature is designed professionally well, it easily promotes your brand in a positive and professional manner.
As a good practice, treat emails like all other forms of corporate communications. Place your links and any potential accolades your company might have received directly into your email signature. This helps to passively promote your business to people that you’re in contact with on a daily basis.
Furthermore; I highly recommend you include your social media links in your email signature too, along with any relevant links to important company marketing pieces – digital brochures, eBooks, or news pieces that feature your company. Drop a small tagline or one-sentence catchphrase about your business and its mission as well.
A signature gives every email you send out an opportunity to get your message out there and keep building up your brand? I don’t think your email signature has to be big and flashy, it should be simple, concise and clear.
It shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes to have an email signature set up in Gmail that looks like it was designed by a professional.
How To Make a Signature In Gmail?
- Login to Gmail, Click on Setting (gear on the right)
- Change the signature field from “No signature” & add your own
- Write your name, position & company.
- Include social icons (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
- Design your signature, use proper spacing & fonts.
- Include your contact number, address & website.
- Add a call-to-action (schedule a meeting).
- click Save changes at the bottom
The use of email signature marketing is one of the most untapped branding and lead generation tools at a company’s disposal. Use it creatively to leave branded impressions within every single one of your outbound messages.
Moving a step away from set up to implementation, let’s look at how things work.
3: Email Newsletter
Your email contacts and subscribers should be the first ones who should get to know about your brand’s content updates, news or giveaways. They have signed up for that, right?
Those in your list are the most loyal visitors you can have, and they are most likely to read every new update you put out, thus they are the the first you should employ to start creating awareness for your web contents.
Here’s a simple example of a newsletter I received recently:
Your top priority for email marketing is to increase customer engagement. If you can increase subscriber engagement with every email you send, then you will increase sales, average revenue per customer and overall company profits.
3: Email Related Businesses
Moving forward; to step a bit out of your comfort zone, another good way to promote your website and attract targeted traffic and leads is to contact non-competing businesses in your niche that might be interested in your content, and contact them. For instance, if you are into wedding photography, you might contact and connect with event planners, DJs, etc.
This way you can create relationships that will be beneficial to the parties involved – always remember to come with something of value, to get value out.
As an online marketing strategist here in Accra, I’ve being lucky enough to build great relationships with webmasters, managers, programmers etc here in Ghana, that has not only help me stay afloat, but feel more connected, confident and relevant.
Connecting with related businesses will come very handy, especially in building links to your website, an important ranking factor in the search engine result pages (SERPS).
Interacting with your peers either within or across industries is no doubt another good way – in my opinion – to market your business online. Do well to consider ways to build solid, lasting business relationships, it will go a long way in ensuring the success, and survival of your venture – as it opens you up to not only business opportunities and expert know-how, but to new audiences and a wider market too.
P.S. to increase engagement. think of how to present your potential partners with content/visuals that are appealing, you’ll be more likely to pique their interest, create a sense of urgency, use specific and easy to find call to action (CTA). Include options for social sharing and personalize to every email.
To hit a final one, on marketing your brand online for free via email – and still on relationship building – let’s target the little big fish in the pond.
4: Email Popular Bloggers/Influencers In Your Market/Niche.
Reaching out to to popular bloggers or influencers in your industry might be an effective way to market your business online, especially if you have something of value to add to their website, social platforms, or one of their posts. If you find a popular blogger who often writes about a particular subject that directly correlates to your line of work, why not reach out and look for ways to collaborate?
A great way to make this happen is to offer your services as a guest blogger. Clearly, you’ll have to have a good background in writing yourself, and it might be difficult to find a popular blog willing to allow you to do this, but it would be worth a shot if you eventually secure a guest post.
5: Use Press Release To Generate Brand Awareness
If you’re thinking about public relations strategy to fuel your business’ online marketing campaign, then considerpress releases.
A press release, news release, media release, press statement or video release is an official statement delivered to members of the news media for the purpose of providing information, an official statement, or making an announcement. A press release is traditionally composed of nine structural elements.Wikipedia
Press releases aren’t going to get you immediate media coverage. However, a press release that’s well-written and has a healthy link profile can assist you marginally with SEO and marketing your company via the internet , but it can also allow you to communicate important company news or events that you can then use to actively pursue media outlets with through the proper PR channels.
Here are some of the best press release sites to consider in promoting your company online:

This requires no introduction. But in this context, for the sake of argument, these are websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. With reliance on business to business (B2B) marketing, and focus on increasing website traffic and attracting leads, we’ll briefly cover a few.
From your Facebook profile page, click the Pages header in the left-side navigation. Next, click the Create a Page button, and select the type of page—Local Business or Place, for example, or Brand or Product. You’ll see a number of fields to fill out, such as your business category, name, and address. …
You can also share your post on your timeline to get more traffic. Facebook Ads are also great to get the first followers and user base.
Facebook ads, while not free, offer a great opportunity for reaching the right demographics for your business. As long as you know your customer well, you can use metrics like interests, geographic location, marital status, age and many others, to locate potential consumers to send to strategically-targeted landing pages, also known as squeeze pages.
Experiment with micro-spends to see which ad copy and squeeze page receives the best responses for dropping consumers into your sales funnel.
It might take a considerable amount of time to find the right mixture or recipe when it comes to advertising on a platform like Facebook, but once your campaign is profitable, all you need to do is continue to scale.
Twitter is a robust social media site, and it is less spammed than Facebook. You can share 140 characters tweets at a time which tests your creative.
Building a user base is essential if you want to be seen more.
Moreover, if you ever mention or link to any other business/blogger in your content, then Twitter is the best way to let them know that.
They’ll probably retweet it with their thousands of followers. Check here for more on using Twitter for marketing purposes – to grow traffic, leads and sales.
Linkedin is the social media of professionals, and here you’ll find only like-minded peoples to connect. It serves as an excellent platform to connect with influencers.
The only thing to remember when promoting on LinkedIn is to stay professional. Contents like crack software, hacking, and streaming sites won’t work here.
Also, try to be as personal as you can to get more likes and comments on your posts. Starting with a story and then sharing the link the bottom will work better.
You can borrow some tips from this Youtube Video
LinkedIn groups are a great way for quickly connecting with others in your industry or niche to help spread your message. You can promote your content through LinkedIn groups as long as you don’t come across as spammy. It’s best to add value to a conversation or discussion before trying to drop your links.
LInkedIn groups are also a great way of contacting people who you might not have mutual connections with. You can message any other member in the group without being connected, which can become a huge asset depending on the particular circumstances.
Share updates often in the group, and be sure to stay in the spotlight without oversharing

Online marketing and blogging is built around content and traffic. If you don’t have traffic you can’t sell products, and if you don’t have content you can’t get people to come back to your website. For those looking for a better way of getting their content out to the public, pingler.com is it.
Pingler lets you ping your article to search engines for free. This free tool will let search engine bots know about your latest article and request them to index it as soon as possible.
Pingler is a relatively new way of connecting your blog content across the web and sending it out for everyone to consume. It has over 80 different servers that your blog posts will be sent to. Every time you update your blog or post a new video, pingler pings those servers and notifies them about your new content. Once you understand how Pingler works, you probably will want to know how to use it for your business. The key factor about it is that it increases exposure of your blog which brings more traffic to your blog. Traffic leads to sales and repeat customers. Once you get the traffic to your site, you can do as you wish and sell them your product. In addition to exposure, new backlinks to your website will be created which helps you get better search engine rankings and a higher Google PR value. Pingler is like adding lights and arrows pointing directly at your business, while your competitors wait for individual backlinks and the occasional serious customer to visit their site. They say little hinges swing big doors.
And when it comes to your biggest goals in life and business, it’s absolutely true.
It’s the tiny, everyday choices in your life that have the biggest impact on where you’ll be a month… three months… or even a year from now.
But here’s the thing –
Most people think the opposite.
They believe that progress is made with huge, almost heroic actions. You hear things like take “massive action” and feel that if you’re not doing something BIG, then it doesn’t matter.
But that’s not true.
It just isn’t true.
The small, consistent decisions and actions you take every day are shaping your life (and business) right before your very eyes.
In fact, you’re where you are right now because of them. 😉
The reason I bring all this up is because you have a “little hinge” choice to make today.
One that can swing a HUGE door to success open for you.
The way I see it, you have two options:
One: Keep doing what you’re doing.
This doesn’t take much effort. You can choose to not do anything about it , and continue down the path you’re on.
If you’re where you want to be, then that’s great.
But if there’s a gap from where you are now to where you want to be, then it’s time to do something different.
Two: Take to the drawing board, come to a resolution. And put into practice this sure and proven process, designed to help you get a major breakthrough in your business.
I promise you’ll never be the same if you come to the task at hand with an open heart and mind and truly apply yourself.
I’ve seen it time and time again: my followers/partners who were hesitant to come to apply some of these digital marketing techniques, and did it anyway ended up leaving with big, life changing outcomes.
And I invite you today to do the same today. This is your chance to get a huge head start and hit the ground running – irrespective of the Corona Virus Pandemic keeping most of us at home.
So what’ll it be?
I honor and respect whichever of the two choices you make.
But I sincerely hope you take a chance on yourself, put most of what you’ve discovered today into practice, and see what platforms work best for your line of business, before settling on the right ones for the long term benefit of your venture..
I’ve seen the internet change so many lives for the better.
And I know it can do the same for you too.
